He was predeceased by: his wife Helen; his parents, John and Kate; and his sisters, Lela and Myrtle.
He is survived by: his brothers, Don Eugene and Ray; his daughters, Debbie Smith (Darrell), Doris Gemes (Maurice) of Lincoln and Donna Grotz (Dennis) of Warsaw; and his grandchildren, Tracy Mais (Mike), Cindy Grotz of Warsaw, Scott Grotz (Catherine) of Clinton, Greg Smith, Hayley Perkins (Cody) of Lincoln, Corey Gemes (Reshma) of Texas, David Smith (Allison) of Raymore and Holly Gemes (Anthony) of Eldorado Springs. He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
