He is survived by: his children, Terry Mays, Jr. of Warsaw, Misty Mays of Osage Beach, Cassie Mays of Eldon, Cody and Tressa Mays of Kansas; his stepchildren, Boone DeBates (Rhianon), Bradley Hammond, John, Bridget Pardee, Barbara DeBates, Tia, Joshua Hammond and Bernadine Contreras (Pete); and his siblings, Jerry Mays of Belton, Jim Mays (Laquita) of Eldon, Lonnie Mays (Judy) of Kansas City, Don Mays of Warsaw, Kenny Mays of Kansas City and RuthAnn Masterson (Earl) of Belton. He is also survived by grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
