She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Avery and Sophia Ann Avery (Kelley); and her siblings, John Wesley, Ira Avery, Gladys Dowdy, Mildred Moore, Nola Campbell, Mary Bizzell and Susie Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Rubin Clayton Thurman; her son Roy Clayton Thurman (Lory) of Union, Missouri; her granddaughters, Melissa Schulze (Rob) and Michelle Kasmann (Corey); her great grandchildren, Reese Shulze, Dallas Schulze and Wade Kasmann; and her niece Rosalyn Coffey.
