He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Cruz and Andrea Cruz; his children, Edward Anthony Cruz, Gil John Cruz and Norma Kostecka; and his siblings, Henry Cruz, Chu Cruz, Johnny Cruz, Frances Cruz, Benang Sablan and Medo Tajalle.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Cruz of St. Clair; his sons, Joseph Cruz (Dorothy) of Oklahoma, Herb Cruz (Marlyn) of California and Rick Cruz (Dawn) of California; his son-in-law Scott Kostecka of California; his stepsons, Mark Beadles (Mary) of Union and James Beadles (Maria) of Louisiana; his daughters, Doris Duenas (late Frank) of California, Irene Purnell (JR), Lydia Charles (Bentura) of California, Andrea Schmitt (Merrick) of Kansas, Tita and Venisse (Marc) of Arizona; his stepdaughters, Cindy Berg (Bill) of California and Carol Pistole (Todd) of Arizona; and his siblings, Ping Cruz of California, Herb Cruz (Kim) of Nevada and Lillian DeCastro of California. He is also survived by many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial donations are appreciated to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Edward's memory.
