He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Whitworth and Lillian Whitworth (Strothers); and his siblings, Delmar, Russell, Athol, Jay, Richard, Gale and Janet.
He is survived by: his wife Pat Whitworth of Troy; his children, William Joseph Whitworth Jr. (Jenine) of O'Fallon, Patti Lane (Richard) of Hannibal, Sherry Frankenhauser (Terry) of Troy and Kathy Smith (Rick) of St. Peters; and his brothers, Harry and Howard Whitworth. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.
