It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James S. Burgess of Troy, Missouri, who passed away on June 25, 2024, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As James departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved James. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Zane Burgess (Vaughn) and James S. Burgess, Sr.; and his grandmother Flora Vaughn. He is survived by: his children, Michael Burgess (Alaina) of Winfield, MO and Kelly Burgess of St. Charles, MO; his siblings, Debbie Madigan of Bowling Green, MO and Kevin "Mike" Burgess (Becky) of Peoria, IL; and his grandchildren, Zoey Burgess, Penelope Burgess, Simon Collins and Ian Gant. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
