He was predeceased by: his parents, Buck Swartwood-Helt and Ada Swartwood-Helt; his sons, Lewis Ray Helt and Richard Allen Helt; and his siblings, Jerry Helt and Billie Jo Helt.
He is survived by: his wife Della; his children, Joseph Lee Helt, Katrina Lynn Lm (Lm Choon) and Lemual Helt (Star); and his siblings, Bill and Rheatha. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
