He was predeceased by: his parents, Lowell Beckman and Betty Ellyn Beckman (Dragoo); his brothers, Michael and Douglas Beckman; his uncle Johnny Dragoo; and his aunt Mary Lou Broermann.
He is survived by: his former wife Carla Cagle; his son Daniel Phillip (Thyra); his grandchildren, Autumn, Austin, Savannah, Hux and Chord; his sister Phyllis Brown (Lyle); and his aunt Doris Ann Stanton. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
