He was predeceased by: his brother Gene Austin. He is survived by: his parents, Nathan Robert and Helen Catherine Austin (Funk); his siblings, Patti Griffith (Steve), Tim Austin (Pam) and Marty Farley (Barney); his uncle Don Funk (Betty); and his aunt Janet Aitken (Tom). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
