He was predeceased by: his parents, Kemper Scott and Minnie Lee Wilson (Boydston); and his siblings, Mary Lee Denney, Mildred Bradford, Norma Robinson, Jean Williams, Charles, Wilburn, Allen, Robert and Chester Wilson.

He is survived by: his wife Darlene Owen; his children, John Wilson (Teresa), Carol Wilson and Carla Berner; his grandchildren, Christina Bowman (Brent), Jason Berner and Kathryn Wilson (Alex); and his great grandchildren, Jaxon Caw and Bentlee Bowman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
