He was predeceased by: his parents, Dave Jacob Bowers and Jettie Gregory Bowers; his wife Melba Jean Tharp; his daughter Regina Bowers; his brother Howard Bowers; and his granddaughter Jennifer Collins.
He is survived by: his daughter Phyllis Golden. He is also survived by granddaughter, four grandsons, great – grandchildren and many friends.
