It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald Cooksey of Saint Joseph, Missouri, born in Forest City, Missouri, who passed away on December 13, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence D. Cooksey and Retta Cooksey (Brown); and his brother Ronnie Cooksey. He is survived by: his wife Betty Joann Dougan; and his children, Janet Lofton (Lamont), Darrell Cooksey (Gemma), David Cooksey (Patti) and Jean Shaw. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a nephew.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to the Lions Club.
