He was predeceased by: his parents, Patricia Cannon and Phillip Cannon; and his siblings, Danny, Cecil Cannon, Denise Cannon and Darla Cannon.
He is survived by: his close friend Mary Thornhill; his children, Lana Thornhill and Derald Cannon Jr.; his siblings, Alan, Dennis "Red", Floyd, Derrick, Dewayne Cannon, Donna Farthing and Deanna Thornhill (Dennis); his grandchildren, Kyla Frame (Clarence), Katelyn Thornhill and Brayden Lawrence; and his great grandchild Maya Thornhill of St. Joseph. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
