He was predeceased by: his parents, Lauritz Tonding and Jesse Tonding; his wife Bette Lou Tonding; his brother Alan Tonding; his grandson Lance Tonding; and his great grandchild Izayah Schonlau.
He is survived by: his sons, Louis Tonding (Judy) of Robertsville and Mark Tonding (Janet) of Valley Park, Missouri; his grandchildren, David Rhodes, Patty Lipford (Burk), Nicole Lynn Hull (Brad), Tara Tonding and Ralph; and his great grandchildren, Julian Lipford, Hanna Schonlau, Brandon Rhodes, Luke Rhodes and Sawyer Lipford. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
