He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Henry and Augusta Margaret Bax (Verhoff); and his children, Myra Jane Bax, Joseph Bax, Gerard Bax and Jude Bax.
He is survived by: his sons, John Bax (Kerry), Charles Bax (Pam), Glenn Bax (Denise) and Stacy Bax (Holt Summit); his grandchildren, Tyler Bax (Carole), Samantha Gass (Josh), Parker Bax, Jaycine Bax, Chelsea Bax, Joshua Bax, Tryston Bax, Dawson Brown, Chris Bax and Alyssa Bax; his great grandchildren, Jack Columbo, Elijah Gass, Annabelle Gass, Amberle Gass and Evelyn Gass; and his siblings, James Bax (Theresa), Robert Bax (Sharon), Evelyn Loethen (Joe), Rosetta Sommers (Eddie), Rosanna Bisges (Gene) and Wardsville.
