He was predeceased by: his parents, George Cook and Iva Erdella Cook (Wampler); his wife Jacqueline Cook (Nations); and his siblings, Carl Cook, Sandy Gravett, Georgia Parker and Janet Long.
He is survived by: his children, Colleen "Connie" Owens, Gary Cook, Jr. (Dolly), Vance Pruett (Kristal), Michael Pruett (Jerri), Scott Pruett (Lisa) and Stacey Anderson (Scott); and his siblings, Darrell Wampler (John), Deloris Jones (Ben) and Myra Thomas (Terry). He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren.
