He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Kay and Kathleen Kay (Eye); his brother Roger Kay; and his siblings-in-law, David Portell and Bonnie Mead.

He is survived by: his son Damian Kay; his siblings, Donna English (Jim), Marcia Portell and Chris Mead; his aunt Georgia Eye; and his uncle Bob Kay.
