He was predeceased by: his parents, John Barton George Sr. and Dorothy Hannan George; and his brother-in-law Lee Bentsen. He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his children, John Barton George III (Whitney) of Kansas City, Missouri, Ruthann Schmalz (John) of Plattsburg and Allison House (JD) of Plattsburg; his grandchildren, John, Knox, Garrett, Ryker, Bowen, Jasper, Dorothy Jane and Quincy; his sisters, Elizabeth Belcher (Jay), Karen Breitkreutz (Ken) and Laurie McMillian (Jerry); and his siblings-in-law, Mark, Sue White, Jean Bentsen and Kelly Enderle Bonine. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
