She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter and Mary E. Wolf (Bestgen); her husband Herbert Henry Gerke; and her siblings, Vernon, Mabel Schuster, Earl Wolf, Irene Koechner and Elmer Wolf.
She is survived by: her children, Eugene Gerke (Patricia) of Columbia, Missouri, Frank Gerke (Paula) of Chillicothe, Illinois, Jerome Gerke (Leigh Fleck) of Franklin, Missouri, Dan Gerke (Karen) of Pilot Grove, Vernon Gerke (Susan Edmondson) of Pilot Grove, Mike Gerke (Shari) of Springfield, Missouri and Joanne Smith (Blake) of Overland Park, Kansas; and her brother-in-law Ted Murphy of Lee's Summit. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
