He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Patrick Portell and Theresa May Portell (Portell); his brother Mark Portell; his nephews, Tony Drennen and Tim Litteral; and his sisters, Deloris Graves and Doris Litteral.
He is survived by: his children, Keith Portell of Festus, Mark Portell of Sullivan, Brandy Portell of Sulllivan and Samantha King of Greenville; and his sisters, Sue Kennedy (Joe) of Pevely and Judy Callahan (Carl) of Cuba. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and numerour nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
