She was predeceased by: her parents, Chesley Leo and Barbara Lydia Sims (Fast); her husband Dale Arthur Johnston; and her son Grant Sims Johnston. She is survived by: her daughter Jill Orlando (Andrew) of Pevely; her grandchildren, Taylor Massa (Jacob) of Crystal City and Morgan Klousia (Kenyon) of St Louis; and her great grandchildren, Luca and Lena Massa of Crystal City.
