She was predeceased by: her husband Wayne E. Dirden; her parents, Verbal Rea and Annabelle Rea; her brothers, James Rea and David Rea; her nephew Monty Rea; and her niece Jamie Neal.

She is survived by: her children, Pamela Bedore (Loren), Alan Dirden, Robert Dirden and Michelle Johnson (Marvin); her grandchildren, Courtney Broadway (Kris), Corey Bedore, Meghan Dirden, Kevin Dirden and Justin Dirden (Abby); her great grandchildren, Kinleigh Dirden and Hallie Dirden; her niece Diana Ing; and her sister-in-law Carole Rea.

Memorials may be made in Marilyn's name to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
