Letha R. Ellis Obituary
Letha Ruth Ellis was born July 18, 1920 in Alton, Illinois. She lived in many places but called Oak Grove her home. She lived to see 100 years; this is truly a celebration of life. She lived and loved through the Great Depression, had a family, and travelled the country; home is where her heart was. Letha never met a stranger, she was known by many names, Leafy, Windy, Granny-bear, junk-yard dog and Mom; but she was the same person to all.
A rock when she had to be, more often scared and lonely behind the tough facade. A devout Christian with faith like no other. Admittedly not perfect always expressing regret for things she had no control over. She did her best to live the way God wanted her to. You always knew where you stood with her. Letha saw the passing of her husband and two sons, her parents and siblings, save one, countless friends and family over the years leaving her feeling more and more alone.
God blessed his child with angels who lovingly cared for her as her time on earth came to an end. So now we celebrate what we know as Letha's life, she lived, she loved, and she was loved by many. She impacted the lives of everyone she touched and prayed for everyone that we might meet again in Heaven…Amen. Letha passed away January 25, 2021, quietly in her sleep.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Herrman 83, of Oak Grove, MO, her baby brother, Donald Herring 93, of Royal Oak, MI, and son, John Ellis 52, of Brooksville, FL, as well as six generations of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Arrangements: Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO 816-690-4441.
