It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Arthur Checkett of Mount Vernon, Missouri, born in Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on November 6, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Henry and Ethel Josephine Checkett (Seegers); his wife Julia Evans; and his brothers, Joseph, James and Lawrence Checkett.
He is survived by: his children, Tamara Ann Adams of Cedar Hill, Missouri and Timothy Checkett (Sandy) of House Springs, Missouri; his grandchildren, Sydney and Jenita Checkett; his sisters, June Marez of Reno, Mary Bove of St. Louis, Virginia Zekoll (Michael) of Glasgow and Carol Whitehead of Arnold, Missouri; and his friend Karen Ingram of Marionville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to any local Humane Society or Food Pantry, in care of the funeral home.
