He is survived by: his wife Janice Shafer; his sons, Jeff Patten (Lori) of Jasper and John Patten (Claudia) of Springfield, Missouri; his grandchildren, Grant Patten (Megan), Melissa Hoegener (Friddy), Marcus Patten (Sarah) and Jennifer Patten (Tim Howard); and his great grandchildren, T. J. Howard-Patten, Isiah Howard-Patten, Aubrey Patten and Mackenzie Patten.
