He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Francis and Betty Lou Lewis (Canterbury); his son David Lewis; and his siblings, Tom Lewis, Tim Lewis and Elizabeth "Bet" Applegate.

He is survived by: his spouse Virginia Cook; his children, Daniel Francis Lewis (Victoria) of Montrose, Rebecca Lynne Traugott (Steve) of Star City, Akansas Basore and Melissa Dawn Basore (Travis) of Montrose; and his sisters, Sue Hernandez (Joe), Penny Catron, Debbie Lewis and Peggy Lewis. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many friends.
