He was predeceased by: his parents, George B. Sr. Vest and Erma Plumb Vest; his son Earnest Wayne Vest; his siblings, Bill Vest, Gary Lowe, Pam Vest, Judy Johnston and Linda Sanders; and his niece Kristie Ice.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Haddock; his children, George B. Vest Jr. of Kerrville, TX, James R Vest (Trasey) of Broseley, MO, Stanley E. Vest of Broseley, MO, Jeffery M Vest of Poplar Bluff, MO, Teena R. Vest of Broseley, MO, Kerie M. Amsden (Bryan) of Bellevue, NE, Nichole L. Lawson (Daniel) of Papillion, NE and Sarah N. Sullivan (Donald) of Hannibal, MO; his brother Larry Johnson Jr. of Dallas; and his siblings-in-law, David Johnston of Licking, MO, Marilyn Lowe of Farmington, MO and Rose Judy (Les). He is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
