He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Hanifen and Anna Marshke; and his brothers, Robert and Howard. He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Hanifen (Montgomery); his children, James Gregory "Greg" Hanifen (Patti), Christine Johnson (David) and Kathleen Gronauer (Cliff); his grandchildren, Carrie Sesterhenn (Mike), Emily DelSoldato (Jason), Andrew Gronauer (Tara) and Amy Martens (Kevin); his stepgranddaughters, Anna Kelly (Kevin) and Jane Snyder; his great grandchildren, Reece, Brett, Elaina, Hudson, Alyssa and Everett; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Tegmeyer and Elaine Montgomery. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
