It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bernard Eugene Strode of Mexico, Missouri, born in Vermont, Illinois, who passed away on November 26, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Strode and Delma Strode (Haney); his son Alvin Ross; and his grandchildren, Daniel and Kayla Wilburn.
He is survived by: his wife Janis Howell; his children, Susan Wilburn (Robert) of Laddonia, Becky Twellman (Rick) of Silex and Andrew Strode (Linda) of Overland Park, Kansas; and his grandchildren, Jay, Mark Wilburn, Eric Twellman, Melinda Grateke, Megan Heman, Maggie Harrington and Evan Strode. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Mexico.
