He was predeceased by: his wife Ann Cowan Robinson; and his pet Sophie. He is survived by: his children, Jennie Robinson Sommers (Dan), Susan Robinson (Kyle Hill) and James Garrison Robinson (Andrea); and his grandchildren, Daniel Robinson Sommers, Harrison Robinson Sommers, Theodore Robinson Sommers, Elizabeth Ann Robinson, James Mitchell Robinson and George Robinson Sommers.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to NWMSU Football Program in care of Nodaway Valley Bank or Noyes Home for Children.
