With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Katherine (Katja) Georgieff formerly of Maryville, Missouri, born in Belgrade, Missouri, who passed away on March 23, 2021 at the age of 94. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ivan Peikarian and Maria Peikarian; her husband Stephen Georgieff; and her granddaughter Lisa Georgieff. She is survived by: her sons, Michael and Nicholas; her grandchildren, Paul, Lara and Alex Georgieff; and her great grandchildren, Parker and Hazel Georgieff.

“I just today learned Katja is gone....I'm sad we did not stay in touch. We met at the Aspen Music Festival years ago, and exchanged thoughts and feelings there, in Florida, and in St Louis after that. I was fond of her, and greatly admired her talent and generosity. I send my warm sympathy to the family, esp Michael and a grandson (I believe Alex?) whom I met in Aspen--she was so proud of both of you! Carol Ehrlich”
