He was predeceased by: his parents, Antone Buyas and Juanita Buyas (Beck); his sons, Shad Nicks and Scott Buyas; and his mother-in-law Neva Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Mimi; his sons, Shane Nicks (Shannon) and Shay Buyas; and his grandchildren, Triston, Peyton, Brandon, Ryan, Allison Nicks, Mackenzie Buyas, Miranda and Connor Muhs.
