She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry R. Schmitt and Anna M. Schmitt (Fuller); her husband Virgil Nelson; her daughter Sharon Drake; and her siblings, Harry L. Schmitt, C. Afton Schmitt and Verlene Kelly.
She is survived by: her grandson Noah Hasty Nelson; and her son Kim Nelson (Tonya). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
