He was predeceased by: his parents, Wood Simpson and Nell Simpson; his granddaughter April; and his sister-in-law Barbara. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Simpson (Hamilton); his daughters, Tamara Nichols (Philip) of Washington and Karen Huggins of Washington; his stepchildren, Patricia Lister (Rick) of Maine, Dorene Franklin (Billy) of Marshfield and Larry Berger (Patricia) of Conway; his grandchildren, Beth, Ryan and Adam; his stepgrandchildren, Jasmine, Lawrence, Elizabeth, Cassie and Boone; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Kayden and Little Bill; his brothers, Paul of North Carolina, Bill (Jo) of Virgina and Ron (Rhonda) of Maryland; his nephew David (Kristina) of Virgina; and his aunt Joan Goodwin of North Carolina. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
