He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Crain and Leta Voshell Crain; his wife Linda Schutte; and his brother Harold Crain. He is survived by: his children, Michael Crain, Sandra Crain, Michelle Sears (Arland) and Janetta Butler (Bobbey); his siblings, Ivan Crain (Joyce), Linda Johnson (Mick) and Lucille "Leta" Mishler (Duane); and his grandchildren, Tiffany Griffin (Chris), Nicholas Taylor (Melissa), Jonathan Crain (Lisa), Ryan Crain (Jennifer), Charles Crain, Chayton Sears, Caitlyn Sears, Noah Sears and Anthony Bull. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
