He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Whitaker and Mildred Carr Whitaker; his children, Johnny Ray Whitaker and Ladana Whitaker; and his siblings, Donald Whitaker and Susan Whitaker.
He is survived by: his wife Jo Anne Whitaker; his sons, LaDon Whitaker (Jennifer) of Booneville, MO, Scott Whitaker of Clarksville, MO and Mike Whitaker (Susan) of Louisiana, MO; his grandchildren, Tyler Whitaker, Lucas Whitaker, Kelsey Whitaker, Ally Hisle, Jefflyn Brown, Dustin Brown and Brandon Brown; his great grandchildren, Bryson Brown, Karson Brown, Landon Brown, Ella Brown, Caliber Schindler and Madison Pearson; his brother James Whitaker of Hannibal, MO; and his close friends, Tracey Ray, Jonathan Schindler and Jerry Green. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
