He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas Clayton and Maudie Clayton (Huff); his siblings, Donnie Clayton, Jerry Clayton and Marjorie Groves; and his son-in-law Randy Carnahan.

He is survived by: his wife Connie Mott; his children, Kimberly Carnahan of Lamar, MO, Curtis Clayton (Cherice) of Lamar, MO and Kevin Clayton (Brandy) of Oregon; his grandchildren, Shane Carnahan (Betty), Victoria Bergland (Ethan), Matt Clayton, Jennifer Logan (Abbey), Jessica Johnson, Joshua Clayton, Shawna Clayton and Cheyenne Clayton; his great grandchildren, Ivan Bergland, Harlynn Bergland, Quinn Johnson, Skyler Deshazo, Joey Butler and Mikaylee Butler; and his siblings, Dollie Crandall of Vacaville, CA and Jim Clayton of Oregon.
