He was predeceased by: his parents, Ward C. Newman and Winifred Jean Newman; and his former wife Joan Evans Newman. He is survived by: his spouse Sarah Casey Newman; his child Shannon Marwini Crist (Matt); his grandchildren, Maggie Joan Crist, Camryn Jane Crist and Harper Lynn Crist; his children-in-law, Matthew Len Crist, Max and Baxter; his cousins, Nance White (Chuck) and Deb Spencer (Ron); and also Emily Jane Hickson.
