He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Nelson and Esther Nelson (Rolfs); his wife Donna Nelson; his son Steven Nelson; and his siblings, Maryann Ettinger, David Nelson, Noel Nelson, Caroll Nelson and Craig Nelson.
He is survived by: his daughter Laura Smith (late Gregory); his grandchildren, Cody Smith, Taylor and Carrington Smith; and his sisters, Gretta Earnest (Fred) and Marcia White. He is also survived by extended family and many friends.
