He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Arthur Shelton and Rosie Lee Shelton; and his siblings, Ethel "Peaches" Jackson, Opra Shelton Morgan, Celia Shelton, Essie Shelton, Janice Shelton and Elvin "Baby Joe" Shelton.
He is survived by: his cousin Bobby Loveless; his daughter Michelle Shelton; his godson Bradley Reeder; his brothers, Edward Shelton, Monroe McKinney, Darrick Shelton and Ronald Roland; and his close friend James Gadson. He is also survived by two grandsons, two granddaughters, ten great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
