She was predeceased by: her parents, Troy Chesnut and Jennie Lee Chesnut (Floyd); her husband Calvin Hesse; her sisters, Fannie Kate and Emily Pauline Hankins; and her siblings-in-law, AJ "Chic" Anderson, Whit Bragg and Catherine Anderson Bragg.
She is survived by: her sons, John Calvin Hesse Jr. (Dawn) of Revere and Ricky Allen Hesse (Lucretia) of Kahoka; her grandchildren, Michelle Kleine (Keith), Devin Green (Jodi), Brandon Green (Crystal), Kristopher Hesse (Kris), Kodi Hesse and Kelsie Gerhardt (Joezf); and her great grandchildren, Jordan Green, McKenzie Green, Riley Cain Green, Chayson Kleine, Boden McKay Kleine, Graydon Kleine, Zachary Green, Ayden Allen Green and Emery Green.
Lola was also a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, a Cancer Crusade Chairman for 25 years, Habitat for Humanity, Clark County Chapter, and represented the Kahoka Presbyterian Church at the Ministers Association meetings.
