He was predeceased by: his parents, Gabriel Marines, and Aurora Marines, Sr. (Bosquez); his brother Gabriel Marines, Jr.; and his brother-in-law John Rubio, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Jan-Marie; his children, Robert Marines, Rudy Marines, Jr., Alma Rose Marines, Ulysses Marines, Thomas Shields (Victoria) and Colton Shields (Melody Devin); his grandchildren, Mara Shields, Lilly Shields, Tirion Shields and Raven Shields; and his sisters, Rose Mehmert (Robert "Bob") and Mary Helen Rubio.
