She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick "Fred" Anthony Brunnert and Coletta Christine Brunnert Wulff (Werdenhause); her husband Richard "Dick" Hughes; her stepfather Victor Wulff; her son Rodney Hughes; her half-brother Ken Wulff; and her stepsiblings, Joan Buschman, Verna Oligschlaeger and Bob Wulff.
She is survived by: her children, Rick Hughes (Jody), Randy Hughes (Barb), Jana Agniel (Chris), Doug Hughes (Leigh Anne), Denny Hughes (Carole), Scott Hughes (Carly), Kip Hughes (Tessie) and Brad Hughes (Andrea); her daughter-in-law Lori Hughes; and her brother Don Brunnert (Gloria). She is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren.
In her later years during the pandemic, painting rocks became her favorite pastime.
