He was predeceased by: his son Lewis Richard Buckner, III. He is survived by: his wife Janice Buckner of Jefferson City; his daughter Lisa Buckner of Oakdale, Minnesota; and his siblings, Wayne Buckner (Mary) of Columbia, Wesley Buckner (Vivian) of Pearland, Vincent Buckner (Brenda) of Blue Springs and Paula Hayes of Columbia. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and other family members.
