She was predeceased by: her husband Don. She is survived by: her siblings, Charles Simmons (Araly), Nedra Christian and Martha Aldridge (Ron); her children, Rusty Burkett (Debbie), Nancy Schumaker and Marla Burkett-Ruiz; her grandchildren, Stephanie Morgan (Brian), Chris Burkett, Ariel Ruiz and Emilio Ruiz (Sarah); and her great grandchildren, Dalton, Brayden, Madison, James, Silas, Emilio and Oliver.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Animals Best Friends, P.O. Box 493, Independence, MO 64051, or Traditions Health Hospice, 220 NW RD Mize Rd., Suite 101, Blue Springs, MO 64014, who provided comfort and excellent care of Marilyn during her last year of life.
