He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Grant and Grace Traxler Tennery (Moore); and his siblings, George Tennery, Mary Ellen Ingram and Gloria Griffith.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Tennery (Langford); his children, John C. Tennery, Jr. of Overland Park, KS, Christie Duke (Kevin) of Olathe and Todd Tennery of Independence; and his grandchildren, Ali, Jason, Trevor Tennery, Daniel, Katherine, Rebekah Duke, Elizabeth Duke Gerringer, Michela Tennery Dooley, Will, Luke Seitz and Melody Tennery.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to Crossroads Hospice of Independence.
