He was predeceased by: his parents, Ella Fern Ayres (Goodall) and Benjamin Franklin Ayres; and his wife Mary Ellen. He is survived by: his children, Vance Ray Ayres (Leona) of Harrison, AR, Kelby Joe Ayres (Yvette) of Branson West, Nita Jane Ayres of Branson West and Arla Ann Ayres of Branson West. He is also survived by his mother's nine sisters and two brothers.
In May of 2016 Artie's lifetime of contributions to his community were recognized when he was inducted into the Reeds Spring Area Hall of Fame.
