He is survived by: his wife Betty R Smith of Harrisonville, Missouri; his children, Richard (Rita Smith), Ed Smith of Harrisonville, Missouri, Rinda (Robert Ragan) and Karen (Drew Roberts); his sister Wanda Lea Cantrell of Independence, Missouri; and his grandchildren, Jamie Bacon, Lindsie Smith, Kasey Fife, Josiah Ragan, Forrest Smith, Elliot Smith, Caleb Roberts and Micaela Roberts. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
