He was predeceased by: his parent William Albert; his daughter Deanna Akins; his brothers, Bobby Gene, Charles Carter, Little Bell Carter, Jessie Lee Carter and Louise Carter; and his grandchildren, Cole Akin and Kimberly Akin.
He is survived by: his parent Cora Lee Carter; his children, Angela Laughlin of Sulphur, LA, David Carter of Keller, TX, Elizabeth Carter of Keller, TX and Adam Carter of Fort Worth, TX; and his siblings, Walter Carter of Ellsinore, MO, Marvin Carter of Choctaw, OK, Rose Bunn of Grandin, MO and Martha Spurlock. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
