He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Andre Mercer and Lula Mae Mercer; his former wife Barbara Bartholomew; his wife Barbara Mercer; his children, Margaret Mercer, Dale Mercer (Andrea), Anita Brannam (Mike), Patricia Robertson (Kevin), Kevin Mercer (Kathy), Shannon Hogue (Jason) and Vicky Cross; and his siblings, Calvin Mercer (Charlotte), Belinda Lane of Indiana and Jeannie Hendricks of Indiana. He was also cherished by 24 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
